Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical information needed to handle your enquiry:
- Enquiry form and chat assistant: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company, the service or solution you are interested in, your timeline, budget and message.
- Chat conversations: messages you type into the chat assistant are processed in your browser. They are only sent to us if you choose to send an enquiry through the chat, in which case the conversation is included so we understand your request.
- Technical details sent with an enquiry: the page you were on, the website that referred you, your time zone and your browser and device type. This helps us reply at a suitable time and fix problems.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and this website does not run analytics or advertising scripts.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and send you an automatic confirmation.
- To discuss, quote for and provide the services or solutions you ask about.
- To keep business records of our communication with you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run this website and handle enquiries. They only process your information to provide their service to us:
- EmailJS, which delivers enquiry emails from this website to us and the confirmation email to you.
- Our email provider, which stores the emails we send and receive.
- Our website hosting provider, which serves this website and may keep standard server logs.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to those chats.
Storage in your browser
The website stores a few items in your own browser so it works properly. They are not used to track you and are not shared with us:
- Your light or dark theme choice.
- Your chat assistant conversation, for the current browser session only.
- A short-lived counter that limits how many enquiries can be sent from one device, to prevent spam.
- A copy of the website's files, so pages load faster and work offline.
You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to respond, provide our services and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or US state privacy laws such as the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive a copy of it. To make a request, email info@mckensoftware.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
International transfers
We work with clients worldwide. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is processed.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection with strict security settings. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
